Indianapolis Airport Authority

Congratulations to the Indianapolis Airport Authority for Being Named NAWBO-Indianapolis' 2021 Corporate Partner of the Year.

The Indianapolis Airport Authority (IAA) owns and operates Indiana’s largest airport system. In addition to Indianapolis International Airport (IND), its facilities include the Downtown Heliport, Eagle Creek Airpark, Hendricks County Airport, Indianapolis Regional Airport, and Metropolitan Airport.

One of the nation's newest airports, IND is an exceptional facility built for maximum convenience and safety. The passenger terminal features soaring architecture with abundant natural light; great shopping, dining, and entertainment; and free Wi-Fi throughout. Its spacious security checkpoints were among the first to be designed to accommodate post-9/11 security procedures, better equipping it to support a smooth passenger-screening process. A connector ensures that passengers transiting concourses do not have to be rescreened.

IND has received several prestigious awards recognizing it as a leader within its class, including Best Airport in North America by Airports Council International as part of its annual Airport Service Quality awards for performance excellence. IND is the first airport in the U.S. to win LEED® certification for an entire terminal campus, and the airport has won recognition for its excellent customer service, concessions programs, and art and architecture. It has also won accolades from the FBI, FAA, and TSA.

With some of the lowest fares in the U.S., IND serves more than 9 million business and leisure travelers each year and averages 150 daily nonstop flights to 50 destinations. Home of the world's second-largest FedEx Express operation and the nation’s eighth-largest cargo facility, IND is committed to becoming the airport system of choice for both passenger and cargo service. But IND’s benefits extend well beyond airline passengers and shipping companies. It produces an economic impact in Central Indiana of more than $5 billion annually.

Approximately 10,000 people work at the airport each day. By combining aviation expertise with a commitment to maximizing the potential of airport land for non-aviation activities as well, the IAA has set a course that will only increase its role as a vital economic engine for the region far into the future.
