Volunteer Opportunities
The Visionary Luncheon Committee actively plans our premier annual event, the Visionary Luncheon, which attracts a substantial audience of over 1000 attendees. This event is the chapter's largest gathering, requiring a team of volunteers to ensure its success. The committee is divided into several sub-committees to fulfill this role. The communications volunteers evaluate the organization’s total value proposition—our products, services, the people we serve, and how we serve them. Their goal is to create capacity. These volunteers enjoy thinking outside the box and coordinating strategic marketing initiatives in several ways. Articles
They coordinate and assist in submissions for tracking local and regional award programs to recognize NAWBO-Indianapolis members.
Awards
They write, track, coordinate, and (or) recruit authors to produce articles about NAWBO-Indianapolis members.
Community Outreach
They send thank you notes, congratulatory notes, and condolences to community members, NAWBO-Indianapolis members, and corporate partners.
The Corporate Partners Committee is dedicated to recruiting new corporate partners. Equally important is ensuring our Corporate Partners are happy and receiving all the benefits we offer them. Members of the committee communicate regularly with each representative of our Corporate Partners. This committee is open to NAWBO-Indianapolis board members and Corporate Partners only. The programs volunteers are charged with providing educational programs and resources that support the business growth and profitability of NAWBO-Indianapolis members. These volunteers identify and monitor the education needs of members in addition to facilitating the development of educational and training programs. The membership volunteers head up creative efforts to grow membership, enrich member experience, and invite involvement from current members. These volunteers work hard to identify women business owners who will strengthen and contribute to the chapter’s growth. This group is integral in welcoming new members to the chapter each month and fulfills several duties.
- They identify the needs and perceptions of members and prospects.
- They recommend policies, procedures, and strategies for enhancing membership.
- They recommend means for making prospective and current members aware of the resources, services, and membership benefits of NAWBO at the national and chapter levels.
- They develop and implement initiatives to recruit new members and retain current members.
- They recommend ways to acknowledge new members and encourage participation in NAWBO-Indianapolis activities.
- They connect new members to current members to strengthen business relationships.

The Government Affairs Committee oversees and supports NAWBO-Indianapolis members as it relates to local, state, and federal initiatives for women business owners. These volunteers serve in several ways.
- They monitor and review codes, ordinances, and legislation directly impacting women business owners.
- They communicate with elected officials and policymakers regarding issues impacting women business owners.
- They formulate and advocate for needed change.
- They educate members about current issues, new laws, regulatory factors, and administrative matters.

The Trailblazers Committee assists in planning the second-largest event hosted by NAWBO-Indianapolis, our annual leadership panel discussion. This committee is divided into several sub-committees.
